CONSISTENT DRY POWDER!!

It  begins in September when moisture laden clouds plow into the western side of the Selkirk Mountain Range. Deep snow begins to accumulate as these clouds are pushed up and over the crests of the Selkirks.  Large valleys bisecting the range are conduits for two major storm tracks working together to pump in the powder. The Esplanade range has a typical settled, mid winter snow pack depth of 3 to 4 meters. Our powder snow is much dryer than all other areas because of GAH's proximity to the cooler and dryer Rocky Mountains to the east.
