Be Wise in the Winter

WiseGoat.ca is a website provided by a number of backcountry lodges located in British Columbia. This site is dedicated to sharing weather and snowpack information to the winter recreation community. GAH was one of the first operators to sign on to this program. Our aim is to provide the maximum data to back country users. Regional avalanche bulletins are available on the Canadian Avalanche Centre website as well.

Snow Update

As of January 19th, 2009 there was over 250 cm settled snow in the Esplanade Mountain Range. Daytime temperatures have been above zero and clear over the past couple days. A cooling trend is expected later this week. Snow is on the way!

Construction Update

Meadow is scheduled for major improvements this month. Work crews will be pulling out the old cooking space and replacing it with a brand new and improved kitchen guaranteed to last for many more years to come. Incorporating the popular new design created at Sunrise Lodge last season, Meadow will have substantial interior renovations completed by the end of this ski season.

Grande Traverse and last Minute Deals

Traverse the length of the noble Esplanade Range in the northern Selkirks Mountains. The Grande Traverse is an 7 day epic alpine ski touring adventure. Here you have the opportunity to travel, stay and ski some of the enchanting terrain surrounding all four lodges. This season we are trying to put together traverses in both directions. This means a maximum 20 lucky skiers per week get to explore world class ski terrain. There are still some sweet deals for powder hungry skiers still left this winter. Winter 2010

GAH is pleased to announce that all Guided and Catered prices including the Grande Traverse will not change for next season. Self Guided and Self Catered trip prices for 2010 will stay the same as this year except for a $50/person increase in helicopter costs.
