April 18, 2007 - Sentry Mountain Lodge Ltd Amalgamates With Golden Alpine Holidays Inc

Sentry Mountain Lodge is please to announce that effective February 01, 2007 Golden Alpine Holidays Inc. (GAH) and Sentry Mountain Lodge Ltd. (Sentry) formally amalgamated. The surviving entity has now become Golden Alpine Holidays Inc.  The result for our guests is un-restricted access to over 150 square kilometers  of the pristine Esplanade Range within the famed Selkirk's of British Columbia.

Sentry will continue to operate as the "Flagship of the Esplanades" by offering past and future clients the same or higher level of services. New this season, is wirless internet capability throughout the lodge for those that wish to stay connected.  An internet based phone allowing long distance calling has been set up too. Amenities such as composting toilet, running hot and cold water, environmentally friendly micro-hydro electrical power for all guests and a well stocked wine and liquor cabinet will continue to be available to all our special guests.

GAH has just finished testing the viability of a linked Alpine Winter Traverse of the entire range linking all four Alpine Huts.  Starting at Sunrise, and then moving northward to Meadow, Vista and finally Sentry, this 7 day trip saw staff and guests traveling more than 40 kilometers. Along the way, everyone got all of the vertical they could ever want as groups racked up big ski days along the way.  In short, the traverse was a huge success and GAH plans to offer the traverse in the later part of the season to guests for winter 2007/08.

This summer a full traverse of all four lodges is planned.  Building on the amazing winter trip, our summer traverse plans test the feasibility of offering high quality extended hiking trips that can link all of our lodges along with their uniquely different but equally beautiful alpine playgrounds.

As promised, this summer in the Esplanades will be very busy.  Starting immediately before and after our busy summer schedule, a comprehensive maintenance program for all four lodges will occur. New roofing, upgrades to our saunas, overhaul of the grey water pits, and sprucing up the interiors are just some of the positive changes taking place.
